Herbs for Asthma
There are many herbs available for asthma treatment and relief from the symptoms of asthma. The quantity and type that are used are up to the individual and of course based on your symptoms. Herbal tea has been used by the Chinese for thousands of years and can work wonders when used in relation to asthma relief. Many chemists and internet stores sell herbal tea in tea bag form or you can buy the leaves and infuse the tea yourself. 3 or 4 cups a day of Chamomile (antihistamine), Ginger (controls allergic reactions), Green (opens bronchial passages) and Hyssop (relieves respiratory congestion) would be beneficial for sufferers.
Herbal tinctures are concentrated extracts of the herbs. They come in liquid form and are easy to use and administer by placing up to 3 drops under the tongue, or if it is too bitter, dilute with water or juice, 2 to 3 times a day. Breath Easy is one of the tinctures available and it contains Lobelia, Marshmallow, Mullien, Coltsfoot and Liqorice. Another popular tincture is Cough Calm and it contains Horehound, Elecampane, Comphrey Root, Wild Cherry Bark, Eucalyptus, Chickweed, Slippery Elm and Liqorice.
All things in moderation is the rule and follow instructions on any herbal remedies: although they are much safer than chemical medication recommended by your health care professional. These are supplements and are not intended to replace medication.
